Area Sales Manager sought to join the Furniture Solutions division of an international manufacturer. This global company has 170 locations worldwide and supplies to a range of industries including construction, industrial and automotive industries.

You can be based on patch covering either Northern England (Leeds upwards including Scotland) or Southern England (M4 Corridor including London).

The Role:
As Area Sales Manager you form part of a team dedicated to promoting the company’s range of edgeband, acrylic and HPL surfaces, as well as tambour storage systems. Your key duties will include:

  • Account management of an established customer portfolio (40%) and prospecting and developing new business (60%)
  • Selling the company’s premium product range to furniture manufacturers and users of decorative melamine board, predominantly with the KBB / fit-out sectors
  • Understanding and interpreting customers’ needs
  • Taking a disciplined approach to prospecting, follow-ups, utilising CRM for competitor and customer information
  • Keeping up to date with market developments

The successful Area Sales Manager will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of selling within the interior solutions industry with market knowledge of board manufacturers and distribution channels
  • Comfortable selling a premium product into small to medium size manufacturers and distributors
  • Experience of either selling, manufacturing or distributing edgeband or machines that process edgeband and decorative board would be beneficial. Experience of working within a similar role for a decorative board, edgeband or machine manufacturer would be distinctly advantageous
  • A network of contacts across the industry
  • Well-organised, highly driven, self-motivated and accustomed to working independently
  • Familiar with commercial plans
  • A natural people person who enjoys personal interaction and enjoys selling a product on its quality and benefits as well as technical properties
