Digital Marketing Officer is sought by a market leading insurance services company based in York. As the Digital Marketing and Content Officer you will require an in-depth knowledge of the digital marketplace in order to maintain their current digital marketing activities.  Confident in content creating and writing knowledge of WordPress will all be key to this new role.

The Role:
To include but no limited to the following duties and responsibilities:

A creative and motivated, confident self-starter who has the experience of working across the range of marketing activities within the fast-paced financial services environment.  With a focus on driving sales and increasing brand awareness.  You should be ahead of the curve with digital marketing trends and confident in bringing your own ideas to the table to provide effective marketing support for the business.

Content Creation

  • Create content e.g. web content, blog articles, case studies, testimonials, promotional marketing material, PPC ads
  • Produce content consistent with the company’s tone of voice, style and FCA and PRA rules
  • Research in new content as required
  • Pro-actively assist with the planning of content as required
  • Provide up-to-date information on current trends in content writing and competitor activity
  • Work as part of the marketing team to deliver the marketing plan to agreed timescales

Email Marketing

  • Maintain email marketing database
  • Design engaging communications that build or develop brand and product awareness
  • Create and send email marketing campaigns to subscribed customers

Social Media

  • Create and manager paid social campaigns, using Facebook Ads Manager
  • Develop and implement effective and eye-catching quarterly social media plans that create and ensure best practice
  • Create and run campaigns on many social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linked that will earn natural links for SEO and PR exposure
  • Organically extend social media reach with posts and interactions with relevant brands and individuals
  • Working with the marketing team to support digital marketing plan to agreed timescales

Other Tasks

  • Deliver and develop the marketing strategy by continuously improving digital marketing campaigns through tacking, monitoring and reporting on performance
  • Product content consistent with the company’s tone of voice
  • Working with the team to plan new ways to attract prospective customers like promotions and competitions.

Skills & Experience - What you’ll need:

  • A digital marketing qualification would be an advantage
  • Good communication skills and copy writing skills
  • Thorough understanding of marketing communications and social media
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Flexibility and willingness to undertake a wide range of activities as required
  • Good time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Good basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office, WordPress, MailChimp, Adobe XD, Photoshop & After Effects
  • Training on our Customer System software will be provided


  • Up to £28,000 salary depending on experience
