Finance Analyst sought by a world leading manufacturer of automotive components to join their team based in Sunderland, reporting to the Finance Manager.

The Role:

  • Manage changes to sales prices during production lifecycle of seating components
  • Manage changes to material costs during the production lifecycle of all Directed, Intercompany and purchased parts
  • Manage customer and supplier retros and liaise with Sales, Purchasing and central Finance teams to ensure smooth transaction and no unnecessary surprises
  • Maintain a Costed BOM for each product with up-to-date cost data to ensure accurate planning and forecasting, annual cost roll up and BOM analysis
  • Respond to ongoing product Change Requests and Cost down initiatives and prepare necessary cost data product changes for Piece Price, Tooling, Capital, Engineering, Launch and SDT costs. Liaise with all departments to supply necessary data for quotation to the customer in a timely manner
  • Month-end journal postings in relation to sales and material cost management
  • Manage the upload to SAP of all sales prices and GTOP for all purchase orders issued by the customer
  • Manage the download and reconciliation of Customer and Supplier retros to avoid unnecessary unplanned transactions
  • Reconciliation of Customer Self-Bill invoices and Company SAP invoices
  • Analysis and resolution of discrepancies between self-bill and Company CAP
  • Generation of discrete invoices to the customer
  • Support the forecasting process by providing input on Sales Price Recovery and Material Cost and understanding the strategy with the customer for annual price reductions. Making the necessary accruals to ensure no negative P&L surprises
  • Work with various teams to prepare customer quote package for running changes
  • Identify margin enhancement opportunities

The successful Finance Analyst will have the following skills & experience:

  • CIMA qualified or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of experience in a controlling environment
  • Experience in the automotive industry would be preferable
  • HFM and SAP knowledge would be advantageous
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Strong problem solving capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and cooperate with people of different levels inside and outside the Company and to achieve goals and business objectives
  • Ability to recognise and respond to internal and external customer expectations with a sense of urgency
  • Dedicated and thorough attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and adapt to a changing environment
