HR Officer sought by an award-winning food manufacturing company based in Bilston. They are a privately owned company who supply numerous sectors including foodservice, retail, wholesale and catering, both in the UK and abroad. This exciting role is based on site, with newly-built offices soon to be completed that you will want to travel into every day.

The Role:
As HR Officer you’ll play a key role in all aspects of human resources within the organisation. As part of a team of 3, your day to day duties will include:

  • Dealing with over 900 permanent staff and 100 agency staff.
  • Ensuring matters relating to investigations, disciplinary and grievance are dealt with promptly and swiftly.
  • Recruitment: advertising, selection, interviewing, contract development and delivery of induction program.
  • Absence management, data entry, creating contracts, entering new employee details
  • Performance management including coaching managers on issues and processes.
  • Providing HR reports at a senior level to identify trends and analysis of HR metrics.
  • Exit interviews and producing staff retention plans including pay parity and skills analysis.
  • Working with onsite temporary labour providers to ensure resourcing levels are being met.
  • Working with the appropriate parties on the reward strategy.
  • Carrying out employer checks required for EU and non-EU citizens.
  • Working in collaboration with the Health & Safety and Payroll teams.
  • Identifying training needs and management of the Apprenticeship Levy.

The successful HR Officer will have the following skills and experience:

  • CIPD qualified level 5 with 3 years’ experience in a HR generalist advisory role
  • Previous experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • High level of accuracy is a must and attention to detail
  • Experience of performing HR duties for both permanent and temporary staff
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Excellent IT skills including MS Office Suite
  • Fluent in Punjabi is advantageous
