Project Manager sought by a leading building services and facilities management company in Coleshill to assist in the management & delivery of mechanical projects in a Building Services environment.

Job Role:
Working alongside the experienced Project Managers team and reporting to the Contracts Manager, your role will involve:

  • Manage the mechanical delivery of the projects and oversee the management of mechanical projects assigned by the Project Team
  • Deal with site-based engineers so that they gain an understanding of the projects
  • Assist in improving regional M&E knowledge and capabilities to enable continued project division development through internal strength


  • Carry out surveys and produce reports for prospect and current clients for all aspects of the facilities in question
  • Help oversee the development, management and review of processes and the achievement of accreditations to improve operational efficiency and to build a professional organisation
  • Assist in the review, negotiations and agreement of third-party contracts
  • Assist in the management and monitoring of project sub-contractor database and continuously improve sub-contractor performance
  • Develop relationships with and advise clients, ensuring current and future needs are met
  • Formal presentations to potential customers to support the company in securing contracts
  • Critically appraise the building or portfolio to identify complexities, liabilities and solutions in delivering services relating to project work
  • Networking at a senior level; speaking competently about industry trends and developments
  • Cascade the company’s core values on to sub-contractors and ensure buy-in
  • Encourage the demonstration of the company’s core values and manage the development of a company culture which makes people proud to be working for the company

Health & Safety

  • Ensure sub-contractors are training on H&S policies for each site/project and monitor their H&S appraisals and method statements
  • Attend health and safety briefings in line with the company training process
  • Complete Health and safety plans for each project including CDM risk assessments
  • Oversee and analyse the ongoing monitoring of costs and expenditures across all projects


  • Ensure timely invoicing to suit client and business requirements
  • Achieve positive cash flow for the company on all projects
  • Assist in the growth of the client base of the projects division via building client relationships

Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Educated to HNC level in the design and management of building services
  • HNC Mechanical Engineering is desirable or experience in an engineering environment
  • Prince2 qualified is desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to negotiate and influence at a senior level
  • 5 years’ experience of a similar senior role within the building Services sector
  • Financial and commercial acumen to be able to manage all aspects of projects costs
  • Ability to respond quickly to clients and effectively put in place plans for problem resolution
  • Able to demonstrate the capability of managing and developing client relationships
  • Ability to manage the competing demands of clients
  • Leadership and people management skill
  • Able to work flexibly and to work independently
  • IT literate
