A Technical Specification Sales Manager Windows is sought by an international manufacturer of polymer solutions who supply to multiple sectors including construction, industrial and automotive industries. They’re now looking for an experienced Technical Specification Sales Representative with strong working knowledge of commercial PVCu and aluminium windows covering the North West of England.
The Role as Technical Specification Sales Manager – Windows Solutions
Reporting to the Head of Sales (Northern Region), as the Technical Specification Sales Manager you’ll be responsible for business development throughout North West of England including Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Staffordshire, Merseyside, Isle of Man, Clwyd and Gwynedd.
You will be calling on LA’s, HA’s, Architects, Specifiers, Consultants and Developers and potentially other clients associated with PVCu market. The role will consist of:

  • Selling the full range of window and door solution products for use in commercial developments and refurbishments – Windows, doors, bi-fold, patio doors, curtain walling, building envelope
  • Developing key relationships with Housing Associations, Local Authorities, Architects, Specifiers, Consultants and Contractors building bids & tenders portfolio on the CMS in house system
  • Working closely with commercial fabricators and installers to maintain and defend those specifications
  • New sales development B2B throughout the region - 50% and maintain, manage and grow established accounts - 50%
  • Responsible for delivering technical presentations such as CPD seminars on a regular basis for architects and other construction professionals
  • Working as part of a team of 4 (Support is available via internally promoted employee who previously did this role).
  • Targets will be based around future growth of pipeline development and personal KPI’s achieved
  • Covering the North West you will be based/living on the territory

The successful Technical Specification Sales Representative - Windows Solutions should have:

  • Previous experience of selling windows, doors, curtain walling or building envelope arena in the commercial B2B sector is a must – PVCu or aluminium windows or associated related products
  • Technical knowledge, ideally knowledge of aluminium background
  • Excellent in-depth knowledge of the building regulations and British Standards (how to calculate loads/weight)
  • Experience of dealing with Architects, Specifiers, Developers and Contractors is essential
  • Can demonstrate strong relationship building with customers
  • Bids and Tenders experience id desirable
  • You will be an experienced, hungry, vibrant new business developer who can open doors to new opportunities
  • Can demonstrate patience and are thorough in your approach
  • Organised and planned
  • Strong oral and written skills and experience of presenting
  • Strong standard of education, ideally to A Level standard or equivalent


  • Excellent competitive salary with additional bonus on achieving KPI’s (see below)
  • Up to £7.9k car allowance (This amount is based on the employee doing 10,001 – 20,000 business miles p/a
  • Broadband allowance £180 p/a
  • Hours of work = 37.5 hours per week
  • Sales Incentive Programme =  results orientated targets (max 30%) – paid quarterly and individual targets (max 10%) – paid annually
  • Enhanced Pension Scheme: Employee pays in 3% the company will pay in 6% or Employee pays in 4% the company pays in 8% or Employee pays in 5% the company pays in 10%. The maximum the company will pay is 10%
  • Life Assurance = 3 times basic salary – if join pension scheme
  • Private Medical Insurance (PHC) & Health Cash Plan (Simply Health) - If the employee wants they can have cover for themselves. The can also cover their partner and family, although would need to pay this element themselves through payroll. They would also receive free cover in Health Cash Plan cover. They can upgrade their level, but they would need to pay for this themselves through payroll
  • Company Sick Pay Scheme = 4 weeks for employees with up to two years’ service, 8 weeks for employees with 2 – 5 years’ service and 13 weeks for employees with more than 5 years’ service
  • Holiday = 24 days plus bank holidays in first two years and then increasing to 25 days plus bank holidays. In their first year their holiday entitlement will be pro-rat’d to their start date. Holiday year runs from 1st January to 31st Five days (23/12, 24/12, 29/12, 30/12 & 31/12) need to be saved for this year’s Christmas shutdown period
