Augean PLC is an AIM listed company formed in 2004, they are a UK specialist waste and resource management group serving the hazardous and non-hazardous waste management sector, the oil and gas industry and nuclear and radioactive sectors. Following strong business performance and operational delivery, the business is now poised to continue their plans to grow their expertise and market share in key vertical sectors.. This division provides bespoke solutions and services from full project management, sampling and analysis, excavation, logistics, treatment and disposal for hazardous and non-hazardous wastes from construction projects within the UK. Projects can range from housing and regeneration projects through to strategic infrastructure works such as new bridges, railways etc.

Role

Reporting to Augean’s Head of Construction and Soils Manager, you will develop and deliver a sales strategy which generates new business for conversion into profitable, contract-backed revenue streams in their construction/soils market sector. Your key objective will be to drive compliant and profitable sales for the treatment and disposal of construction and related industry wastes including hazardous waste soils, asbestos contaminated soils and filter cakes in Augean’s Southern Region and to ensure the development and delivery of a sustainable pipeline of new opportunities. Other duties include:

  • Developing appropriate sales channels and taking the proposition to market – managing sales leads, sales contacts, business development, and customer relationships, tendering and bidding processes, presentations, contract/price negotiation, and service implementation.
  • Proactively work with Augean’s technical, administration and operations teams, and with customers and haulage suppliers/partners to ensure the safe and compliant delivery of wastes to Augean’s sites.
  • Working closely with your management team to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and delivery can be achieved without any compromise.
  • Present to customers Augean’s services through the submission of quotations, proposals and meetings.
  • Build on your market knowledge and experience by understanding and monitoring and reporting on competitor activity.

Person

You will have an enviable proven track record of success in developing business and relationships from ideally within the construction, soils and/or aggregates sectors or relative or comparable markets such as hazardous waste, waste treatment/disposal.

You will have up to 5 years’ expertise and possess the right soft skills to make this a success. We are searching for someone who is now looking to make the right career move and possesses an entrepreneurial style and the appetite to drive their own success, hence a hands-on and make it happen approach will ensure your future. Attributes required:

  • Ability to cold call, develop relationships, develop regional knowledge, negotiate and execute deals in line with business plans.
  • Influencing and planning the development of opportunities and raising standards to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Attention to detail and actively manage the sales process from inception to contract/deal completion.
  • Strong organisational skills verbal and written with proven ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
  • Highly developed MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, CRM tools.
