An experienced HSEE Coordinator is sought by a world leader in the manufacture of automotive components to join their plant in Liverpool. The company is a global diversified technology and industrial leader, serving customers in more than 150 countries.

The Role:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, as HSEE Coordinator you will be responsible for HSEE within the plant, including monitoring HSE issues e.g. audits, PPE, Fire Safety, Housekeeping, Waste Management, and reporting issues to management. Your day to day duties will include:

Health, Safety & Environment:

  • Organise and co-ordinate the environmental, health & safety activity of the company in line with all relevant local legislation and company requirements
  • Carry out risk assessments, inspections and audits to ensure the site is fully compliant with current legislation and company requirements, reporting this information to the business with any necessary resolutions or improvements that are required
  • Investigate and report all accidents, near misses, illnesses and emergency responses
  • Ensuring all corrective, preventive actions and controls are implemented
  • Maintain the ISO 14001 certification for the site
  • Work with plant manager and management team to define, track and achieve annual HSE objectives and targets
  • Support the plant ergonomic champion as per the HRT4ERGO standard and archive all meeting minutes
  • Track and report HSE related KPIs and other performance indicators
  • Keep the list of legal requirements updated and inform the management team about significant changes that might have an impact on the plant
  • Liaise with occupational health regarding any health and safety issues raised within the plant
  • Working closely with all Department Managers and will lead Health and Safety training sessions which will be cascaded throughout the workforce
  • Liaise with insurers for all company employee and public liability claims


  • Apply, execute and maintain function-related BOS issues
  • Engage in problem solving to support the continual improvement of the business in all areas

Delivery & Launch Excellence:

  • Understand Plant and Team KPIs
  • Support the launch of new products and processes
  • Monitor contractors to ensure compliance with HSE requirements and valid permits to work
  • Coordinate and control First Aid activities, accident and spillage investigations and collation of accident statistics (internal and external reporting)
  • Liaise with Regional HSE Champion and HR Team on Occupational Health issues
  • Conduct statutory required assessments for noise, ESD measuring, Infrared etc. Initiate appropriate corrective actions

The successful HSEE Coordinator will demonstrate:

  • Relevant Health, Safety & Environment qualification e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH
  • Previous experience in a Health & Safety role within a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental Standards (ISO14001, OHSAS 18001), and Health and Safety and Environmental Regulations and legislation in the UK
  • Basic knowledge of local Fire Protection Standards
