Start Date

Windows Cloud Infrastructure Engineer sought by a worldwide IT services provider based in Birmingham whose services and solutions utilise the latest technologies to allow businesses to become more innovative and efficient.

The Role:

Reporting to the Associate Manager (Technology) you’ll provide day-to-day technical resolution of incidents, service requests and project work to ensure objectives are met. Your duties will include:

  • Ensure operational delivery tasks are completed to SLAs, and constantly seek improvement
  • Work on Incident & Service Request queues to ensure they’re acted on in line with SLAs
  • Proactively progress issues and problems to ensure timely resolution and that ‘On Line’ service start times aren’t adversely impacted
  • Liaise with Client Services Manager to ensure actions are taken to resolve issues & problems
  • Structured and methodical fault identification and isolation technique
  • Ensure out of line operational issues are escalated in line with procedures
  • Develop documented “Best Practice” procedures within the area of work
  • Understand responsibilities to processes & procedures; recognise broken processes and identify solutions
  • Advocate standardisation and automation
  • Identify improvement/innovation opportunities and allocate appropriate resources
  • Manage emergency events affecting the service
  • Work with the client teams on continuous service improvement plans
  • Work with other support teams to ensure effective and cooperative team working
  • Ensures effective implementation of Company and Business Line policies and procedures
  • Be aware of and adhere to appropriate Employment, Security and Data protection legislation
  • Adhere to technical & quality standards e.g. client-specific change control procedures

The successful Windows Cloud Engineer should have:

  • Ability to work with Windows, and Azure or Amazon Web Services is essential
  • In depth knowledge and problem-solving experience of Windows server technologies
  • SCOM and SCCM knowledge
  • Experience in service delivery to clients in full scope of Windows infrastructure
  • Strong cloud platform management (AWS/Azure)
  • Virtual Server management throughout lifecycle
  • NSG management
  • KEMP administration
  • Proficient in Citrix support
  • Able to produce high quality documentation
  • Commercial knowledge – project requirements, estimating, contractual awareness
  • Certification in Windows server technologies is desirable
  • Automation experience is desirable
  • Security Clearance to MOD level will be required
