Internal Sales Advisor sought by a leading Builders Merchant with 30 years of history who are committed to being a company of the future. Part of a successful group of four companies and with two successful branches around London, they’re looking for an accomplished Salesperson with building supplies knowledge to sell over the phone and the trade counter and assure targets are achieved.

The Role:

As Internal Sales Advisor you’ll be responsible for serving customers and building strong relationships to generate sales.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you’ll deal with customers to identify their needs by providing product advice, dealing with quotes and queries, liaising with drivers regarding deliveries and actively seeking sales through contacts in order to maximise sales opportunities. Your duties will include:

  • Taking & making calls from businesses across the UK and closing generated leads
  • Meeting deadlines, targets and KPIs
  • Researching new business opportunities
  • Listening to customer requirements to successfully make sales
  • Maintaining & developing relationships with customers via phone and email
  • Challenging objections with a view of getting customers to buy
  • Communicating & adapting to a variety of customers from diverse backgrounds
  • Attending weekly sales meetings to inform the team of any progress
  • Actively dealing with all sales enquiries, converting sales and offering appropriate upsells
  • Any other duties required by management

The successful Internal Sales Advisor should have:

  • Ideally 3 years’ sales experience in the building supplies / builders merchant sector
  • Proven track record of successful sales performance
  • Excellent product knowledge and commercial awareness of the Construction industry
  • Enthusiastic with impeccable telephone manner and able to build strong customer relations
