Start Date

IT Support Analyst is sought by a company that plays a key role in influencing education policies. The largest of its kind in the UK, the company is driven by its commitment to making education a great industry to work in. This is a Fixed Tern Contract until 31st December 2020.

The Role:

Reporting to the Helpdesk Manager, you’ll be responsible for providing frontline technical support to system users. Your duties will include:

  • Providing effective frontline technical support and advice to system users
  • Troubleshooting support issues to resolution, or escalate as appropriate
  • Ensuring proper recording and updating of all requests for support in the helpdesk system
  • Configuring user devices (PC’s, laptops, telephones, printers, etc.)
  • Creating, modifying and managing user accounts and access to IT systems
  • Routine system checks and tasks as directed carrying out system backups and restore
  • Liaising with external suppliers as directed or as necessary to support successful resolution of user support issues
  • Participating in IT projects as and when required
  • Creating and maintaining documentation on processes, user guides relating to key areas of work, and contribute to the maintenance of the helpdesk database and solutions library

The successful IT Support Analyst should have most of the following:

  • Well-developed experience in a similar IT Support environment
  • Degree or equivalent further education in a relevant discipline
  • Good working knowledge of IT systems / packages e.g. Microsoft Office 2016 Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, MS Project, Visio), Office 365, Active Directory, VPN, Antivirus Software, Database systems
  • Knowledge of Freshdesk would be highly beneficial
  • Ability to create and maintain user accounts across a range of back-end systems e.g. ActiveDirectory / Azure
  • Ability to set up and configure a range of user devices e.g. PCs, laptops, telephones, printers
  • MCP MCSE or equivalent experience is desirable
  • Ability to maintain up to date records and accurate data in electronic and hard copy systems
  • Experience of using judgement and ability to make decisions within accepted parameters
  • Clear and approachable telephone manner and strong communication skills
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely e.g. for the purpose of preparing user guidance documents, or creation and maintenance of documentation on processes
  • Ability to successfully manage relations with external suppliers
