A Head of Marketing is sought by a construction purchasing group based in North London. With over 200 member companies, they use their group buying power to facilitate lower purchasing costs for their members. This well-established supplier to the building sector has 20+ years under their belt and is seeking an experienced Marketing Director to join their successful and reputable team.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll be responsible for leading the overall marketing strategy of the company in order to achieve their growth targets for 2020, including line management of the Marketing department.

Your focus will be on increasing the company’s revenue by developing new ways to promote the brand with a focus on construction organisations and building supplies companies who will benefit from the savings attained by being a part of this group. You’ll work with the CEO and other senior management to devise and implement marketing strategies based on opportunities identified by the Marketing department.

Existing members are based as far North as Scotland, so your marketing remit will span the whole of the UK.

The successful Head of Marketing should demonstrate:

  • Previous experience as a Marketing Director or Head of Marketing
  • CIM qualified and degree in Marketing or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years in Marketing at a senior level
  • Experience in the building and construction industry is preferred or associated services or a working in a marketing capacity for a supplier to the building trade would be beneficial
  • Can demonstrate increasing business growth through successful marketing implementation
  • Both digital and traditional marketing experience is essential
  • Able to think strategically and creatively about marketing and business issues
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience identifying target audiences & devising/engaging marketing campaigns
  • Strong attention to detail and competent in problem analysis and problem-solving
  • Financial acumen to analyse commercial results and new market opportunities
