We are searching for an Operations Manager for LS Lifts, a forward thinking and leading Independent lift company with an established wealth of experience and track record stretching across the lift sector within the UK. The company is a lift supplier and installer dealing in projects from circa £25k to £500k mainly commercial properties.

The right individual will be given a real development opportunity working towards being part of the management team in the form of a Senior role in the business. Role

This is a technical and practical hands-on opportunity providing technical support on all installation projects for your customer and engineering teams. You will ensure a high level of service and support whilst operating to company and site Quality, Environmental Health and Safety guidelines and standards. In addition to this, you will support in trouble shooting and providing solutions; identify areas of improvement to the project and highlighting any financial risks upholding financial control and profitability. Other key responsibilities include:

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for projects from point of manufacture to handover to the client. The position would ideally (although not essential) allow the ability or give the opportunity to allow the candidate to have the technical ability to conduct the commissioning and testing of completed installs to meet the site programme and all legal requirements and CE certification for handover.
  • Liaise with the client’s representatives to record site readiness. Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure equipment ready to achieve program.
  • Will be responsible for projects being completed and handed over on time, to specification, and within cost
  • To conduct initial pre-installation site surveys on all new projects
  • When required undertake final survey ensuring the site is ready to accept delivery of the materials for the installation and when needed undertake the checking of the materials to the delivery Pod.
  • Preparing site reports as necessary for project manager and directors.
  • Trouble shooting in a speedy and commercially acceptable manner with the engineers on site and the lift manufacturers to remedy any issues during the installation mechanical or electrical.
  • To become the first port of call for all engineers during the installation to provide technical assistance when needed.
  • To conduct site visits during the install is underway to check the quality of the installation.
  • Adhere to all health and safety and QA requirements for the activities and site.
  • Liaising with head office as necessary to co-ordinate activities and to prepare progress reports on ongoing Installations.

Person

This is a rare and exciting development opportunity for an individual who has a can-do attitude combined with the technical know-how including;

  • Aptitude for problem solving and be a self-starter and self-responsible as this is a customer centric role. 
  • Proven track record in lift industry.
  • Highly organised, analytical and an expert communicator who can operate across different groups throughout the installation and testing process.
  • Excellent communication and comfortable with reading installation & wiring drawings whilst contributing in all issues associated with the installation across mechanical, electrical and control interface.

C£40,000 + flexibility dependant on experience + Car Scheme + bonus + benefits
