A passionate Social Media Coordinator is sought by a market leading financial services company based in York. They are highly regarded as market leaders with the majority stake in their field and with an ever growing international presence this is a unique opportunity to join at an exciting phase of growth for the company.

The Role:

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, as Social Media Coordinator you will create and maintain a strong online presence for the company and implement online marketing strategies through social media accounts.

You will develop original content and suggest creative ways to attract more customers and promote the brand, with the goal of increasing web traffic and customer engagement metrics aligned with broader marketing strategies. Your day to day duties will include:

  • Creating and running campaigns on many social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter that will earn natural links for SEO purposes and PR exposure
  • Creating and managing paid social campaigns, regularly improving these through constant monitoring of the activity and delivering reports on effectiveness and future strategy
  • Developing and implementing effective and eye-catching quarterly Social Media Plans, that create and ensure best practice
  • Managing the day-to-day activities and coordinating the planning of social media activities both pro-actively and reactively
  • Briefing the Design team to deliver engaging graphics, video and creative that support planned campaigns
  • Providing up-to-date information on current trends in social media and competitor activity.
  • Managing the customer experience through social media and facilitating meaningful interactions with users who seek to engage online
  • Monitoring and reporting on the success of Social Media Plan
  • Developing an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and customer engagement
  • Assisting the copywriting team with vibrant, contemporary content for website, blogs and promotional literature
  • Working with the copywriting team, PR Coordinator and Marketing Manager to plan new ways to attract prospective customers, like promotions and competitions

The successful Social Media Coordinator will demonstrate:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Social Media role, both in organic and paid channels
  • Passion for social media (Facebook, Instagram & Twitter), creative, open and innovative mind
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video) both on social media and off
  • First-hand experience of creating content and generating engagement on social media platforms that supports and compliments overall brand marketing strategies.
  • Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels
  • Ability to grasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Multitasking and analytical skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, New media or relevant field would be highly beneficial
  • Due to the location of the offices, a driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential


  • £22,000 – £24,000 salary depending on experience
